Parenting as a subject has some unique features. Its one of the very few things I know of which does not require any qualification, skills, degree, or knowledge. Any one can decide to be parent. Most parents are parents by choice. Whether your own choice or choice of others around you. Or you maybe parents by accident. But in all cases, once you are blessed with a child, you develop an unparralel bond with the child. You own it. You care for it. Whether the child is beautiful or ugly, even handicapped and special, you unconditionally love him / her and consider him to be a God’s special gift to you. Why this happens, is a different story, but what is important is it happens. In this short course I have highlighted a few important aspects of what can be good for parents to bear in mind. Parents are lifelong mentors of every child. They need to learn how to support the physical, social and intellectual development of their children. The course is aimed at creating ‘REAL PARENTS’ who can hold hands of their children as they design their future, as there can be nothing like ‘PERFECT PARENTS’, which all of us are wanting to be and in this quest, the ultimate sufferers are our children.
This course is meant for you if, You are married and have not even planned to start a family as yet, You and your spouse are planning to start a family, You have a child or more, You are finding it difficult to cope with the challenges of parenting, You wish to do the best you can for your child or children.
You will be able to widen your horizon on the subject of parenting, You will get to know more about the challenges of parenting in today’s dynamically changing environment, You will understand why the child of today behaves the way he does and what can you do to support him, You will learn those little little nuances of parenting that help you create a better bond with your child.
There is nothing to prepare for this course. You need to have an open mind. That is all.
